Brian Wheeler is a seasoned strategic advisor with decades of experience providing legal and business guidance to clients across a wide variety of industries. Both Brian’s work in private practice and his in-house career have given him an extensive background in M&A - particularly cross-border M&A - transactions involving venture-backed companies in the technology and life sciences sectors, growth equity, private equity, and fund structuring.
Brian’s legal acumen extends beyond private practice to his significant in-house tenure at companies on the cutting-edge of the technological revolution. The former general counsel and head of corporate development of Heni, an international technology and art services company, Brian spent five years at SoftBank Investment Advisers, where he was managing partner and general counsel.
Prior to moving in-house, Brian was a partner at a global law firm in its Palo Alto office. He previously practiced in Tokyo and is proficient in Japanese.

Paul Worsnop is Partner within Appleby's corporate department in Jersey. He has a broad practice and advises on all aspects of corporate and finance transactions with a particular emphasis on debt and equity capital markets, structured finance, funds and technology.
Prior to commencing his legal career, Paul spent two years as a project manager in the software development industry which is reflected in the commercial and practical advice he offers his clients and his sector focus.
Paul is involved with a number of industry working groups on the Island looking at areas including capital markets, the implementation and regulation of Fintech in Jersey, the AML/KYC regime and legal reform.
