Meet the Judges

David Kennedy
David Kennedy Chief Executive Office, Jersey Sport
With over 30 years of experience in Sports Development, I am a strategic leader committed to driving meaningful change, strengthening governance, and demonstrating the powerful impact that sport has on communities. My journey began as a young lad playing football in Scotland, a foundation that shaped my passion for sport and continues to fuel my work today. Now, as CEO of Jersey Sport, I bring that same enthusiasm to leading an organisation dedicated to improving lives through physical activity and inclusive sporting opportunities. I specialise in sports governance and have enjoyed working with governing bodies to embed high standards and consistent practices across sports in Jersey. Throughout my career, I’ve led strategic development initiatives, overseen major change-management programmes, and championed evidence-led approaches to strengthen the role of sport in society.

Farah Ballands
Farah Ballands Chair, Board of Governors, Jersey College for Girls
Farah currently chairs the boards of two regulated financial services businesses as well as the board of governors of Jersey College for Girls. She is a lawyer by training and practiced as a commercial/trusts lawyer before becoming a partner with offshore law firm Appleby in 2003. Farah had responsibility for all of Appleby’s trust, company and fund administration businesses and all of the other non-law businesses globally. In 2015 she led the management buyout of those businesses to private equity firm, Bridgepoint. That became the new firm, Estera, and Farah became its CEO. When that business was later sold by Bridgepoint to private equity house, Inflexion, and merged with Ocorian, which they already owned, Farah became CEO of the combined business until her retirement in 2021. At the time of her departure, Ocorian had over 1500 employees in 20 offices in finance centres around the world.
