Reckon Appoints Kelly Watson as Director

•       Watson brings more than 20 years’ experience across fiduciary services, private client law, and complex trust structures

•       A dual-qualified solicitor and barrister (non-practicing), she is widely recognised for her expertise in contentious trusts

•       Watson’s appointment further enhances Reckon Financial Services’ senior advisory and fiduciary capabilities

Jersey-headquartered Reckon Financial Services today announced the appointment of Kelly Watson, further strengthening its fiduciary and advisory team with deep expertise in complex, contentious, and high-risk trust matters.

The appointment comes as Reckon continues to expand its international client base and enhance its capability in managing sophisticated private wealth and fiduciary structures across multiple jurisdictions. Watson brings more than two decades of experience spanning fiduciary administration, private client law, and litigation-related trust work. She joins from a leading trust company, where she served as Client Director and established a dedicated contentious trust offering, leading a specialist team focused on some of the most complex and sensitive trust matters in the market.

Her career includes senior leadership roles within the fiduciary services sector, including a major fiduciary firm, where she acted as principal for portfolios of complex and distressed structures involving litigation, tax investigations, divorce proceedings, and court-appointed trusteeships. She regularly acts as a director of client companies, working closely with boards, regulators, and professional advisers.

Dual-qualified as both a solicitor and barrister (non-practicing), Watson combines rigorous legal analysis with practical fiduciary judgment. Her background includes early private client practice at a well-regarded Jersey law firm and complex product liability litigation work at London-based litigation firm, giving her a rare breadth of experience across contentious legal and fiduciary environments.

Watson is a frequent international conference speaker on contentious trusts and is actively involved in developing and delivering specialist training programmes, both in-house and externally. She is consistently recognised as a leading practitioner, having been listed in the ALM Private Client Global Elite Directory for 2023- 2026 and named as a recommended expert in the 2025 Spear’s 500 and 2023 Spear’s Tax and Trust Indices.

“I’ve spent my career working at the sharp end of fiduciary services, often where legal risk, family dynamics, and governance challenges collide,” said Kelly Watson. “Reckon’s focus on sound judgment, technical excellence, and clear client communication strongly resonates with me. I’m excited to be joining a team that takes these responsibilities seriously and approaches complex matters with confidence and care.”

“Kelly brings exceptional technical depth, calm authority, and real-world experience in some of the most challenging trust situations imaginable,” said Alfie Greenway, Co-Founder and Director, Reckon Financial Services. “Her appointment significantly enhances our ability to support clients facing complex or contentious circumstances.”

“Her legal training, fiduciary leadership, and market recognition speak for themselves,” added Jim McCartan, Co-Founder and Director, Reckon Financial Services. “We’re delighted to welcome Kelly to Reckon as we continue to build a business defined by quality, judgement, and integrity.”
