Walkers Promotes New Partner in Jersey as Part of Latest Promotions Round

|1 Jul 2026

Walkers has announced eight promotions across its Jersey office, effective 1 July 2026, including a new partner and four new senior counsel.

Nichola Brennan has been promoted to the partnership in the firm’s Private Capital & Trusts team. She specialises in non-contentious trust, foundation and family office matters in a private wealth context, and with more than 15 years’ experience advises trustees, high-net-worth individuals, family offices and charitable organisations on the establishment, operation and administration of private client structures, including discretionary trusts, private trust companies and foundations. A full member of STEP, she is ranked in both the Legal 500 and Chambers.

The office has also promoted four new senior counsel: Craig Macleod in the Insolvency & Dispute Resolution team, Anouksha Patel in Private Capital & Trusts, and Timur Ochkhaev and Luke Steele in Investment Funds & Corporate. In addition, Angharad Prescott has been promoted to senior associate in the Investment Funds & Corporate team.

Across the office’s business services teams, Chloe Ainsworth has been promoted to senior communications manager for Europe and Nick Robinson to financial systems and reporting analyst.

Jonathan Heaney, managing partner of Walkers’ Jersey office, said: ‘My congratulations to Nichola on her promotion to the partnership, and to everyone across the Jersey office recognised this year. Nichola is an excellent lawyer and a natural addition to the partnership, and the calibre of our senior counsel promotions reflects the depth of talent coming through the office. Each of those promoted has made a real contribution to their team and to the service we provide our clients.’

Fraser Hern, head of Walkers’ Channel Islands business, added: ‘This has been another exceptional year for our Channel Islands business. These latest promotions across Guernsey and Jersey are a clear reflection of that. When we set out to build out our business in the Channel Islands in 2018, our goal was to create something that could compete with, and in time outperform, the very best in the market. That necessitated identifying the most talented and driven people in the market and giving them a platform to succeed personally and professionally.’

‘Our journey towards becoming the market leader in every practice area continues today. Promotions such as these, spanning both offices and every level of the business, are exactly what we anticipated and what we expect to see continue in the years ahead. My congratulations to everyone recognised this year.’

It has been another significant year for Walkers. In total, 112 people have been promoted at all levels across the firm’s global offices this year, in one of the largest promotion rounds in its history. Further promotions across Walkers Professional Services (WPS) will be announced later this month.

In addition to marking 25 years in Europe, this year also sees key milestones across each of our European businesses, including 20 years in Jersey, 10 years in Guernsey and 10 years of Walkers Professional Services in Ireland. Together, these reflect the depth of our long-term investment in Europe and the strength of our integrated offering.
