Overview of Role

The Digital Marketing Manager is a 12-month fixed-term maternity-cover position, reporting to the Senior Digital Marketing Manager.

The postholder will support the delivery of Jersey Finance’s digital marketing strategy while providing continuity across key digital platforms, campaigns and reporting. They will take day-to-day ownership of digital channels, marketing automation activity, organic and paid media ensuring activity is delivered efficiently, accurately and to a consistently high standard.

Working within an established framework, the Digital Marketing Manager will be expected to become operational quickly, manage agreed priorities with a high degree of independence and identify practical opportunities to improve digital performance.

The role requires a confident and adaptable digital marketing professional with a strong analytical mindset, sound commercial awareness and the ability to work with agencies and internal stakeholders effectively. It would suit someone with broad hands-on digital marketing experience who is comfortable balancing campaign delivery, marketing technology and data analysis.

Principal Accountabilities

Support the Senior Digital Marketing Manager in delivering the agreed digital marketing strategy and priorities for the maternity-cover period. Lead the implementation of assigned digital projects, platform enhancements and campaigns, using performance data to inform recommendations and improvements.

  • Business continuity: Quickly familiarise with existing platforms, processes, agency arrangements and campaign plans to ensure continuity across priority digital activity and flag risks or constraints promptly. Maintain accurate documentation of campaigns, platform changes, processes, decisions and outstanding actions to deliver a structured handover to the returning postholder and Senior Digital Marketing Manager.
  • Digital agency: Liaise with external digital agency and other relevant suppliers as required. Develop clear briefs, monitor timelines, budgets and outputs, evaluate recommendations and ensure agreed actions are implemented to the required standard.
  • Marketing team support: Meet regularly with the Communications and wider Marketing teams to provide insight and recommendations on campaign optimisation, website content, organic and paid social formats and relevant digital best practice.
  • Website: Update and publish website content using the WordPress content management system, including creating new pages, ensuring content is well presented, accessible, on brand and optimised for a clear user experience. Undertake routine page checks, resolve content issues and coordinate more technical requirements with the digital agency.
  • Social media: Support the development and implementation of organic and paid social media activity to achieve agreed campaign objectives. Provide the team with content recommendations, platform guidance and best-practice advice, with a particular focus on LinkedIn.
  • Paid media: Coordinate and monitor paid search and paid social activity, setting up campaigns and working with colleagues to optimise targeting, creative formats, budgets and performance.
  • Data, analytics and reporting: Analyse data from digital platforms, campaigns and marketing systems. Produce clear and timely reports, identify meaningful trends and turn findings into practical recommendations that support decision-making.
  • User experience and conversion: Evaluate end-to-end audience journeys across websites, email, social media and campaign touchpoints. Recommend and implement campaign improvements designed to strengthen usability, engagement and conversion.
  • Marketing automation: Support day-to-day use of HubSpot, including email builds, lists, forms, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues and providing practical support to colleagues.
  • Data governance: Follow and reinforce agreed processes for consent, subscriptions, data capture, segmentation, imports, suppression, retention and platform access. Escalate data-quality or compliance risks where necessary.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Relevant practical experience in a digital marketing role, ideally within financial services, professional services or another B2B environment. Experience working across international markets would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to take ownership of digital campaigns and projects from briefing and implementation through to measurement, evaluation and optimisation.
  • Experience using a content management system to create, update and publish website pages accurately and efficiently and a good understanding of SEO principles ensuring web content is accurate, engaging, accessible, on brand and provides a strong user experience.
  • Strong experience of planning, delivering and optimising email marketing, paid media and organic social activity to achieve measurable campaign objectives.
  • Practical experience using marketing automation and CRM platforms. Experience of HubSpot Marketing Hub would be particularly advantageous. 
  • Knowledge of analytics and reporting tools such as Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Hootsuite with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable recommendations. 
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple platforms, campaigns and deadlines while communicating clearly with stakeholders. 
  • Confident presenting digital marketing insights and sharing best practice with colleagues across different levels of digital knowledge. 
  • Experience working effectively with external digital agencies and internal stakeholders, including confidently challenging recommendations and holding suppliers accountable for quality, budget and delivery. 
  • A relevant professional qualification in digital marketing is desirable, alongside evidence of ongoing professional development. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered
