Tom is a Partner in Trowers & Hamlins’ cross-border investment group, recently relocated to Kuala Lumpur to support clients across Malaysia and ASEAN, and key investment corridors with the UK and GCC. With over 17 years at the firm, including five years in Kuala Lumpur and seven years in the GCC, he advises on cross-border M&A, funds, equity capital markets and joint ventures, including Shari’ah-compliant transactions. Tom has particular expertise in UK cross-border real estate and international fund investments, advising clients including institutional investors, financial institutions, fund managers and high net worth individuals.

Hamel is an Executive Director of Azimuth with over 20 years of experience across investment management and financial services. Since 2010, he has raised US$2.5 billion in mandates, including navigating the challenges of the global financial crisis. Previously a Partner at Amiri Capital, he has worked with Bain & Co, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Grenfell and NatWest Markets. Based in Kuala Lumpur, Hamel has worked across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the United States. He holds an Economics degree from Cambridge University, an MBA from INSEAD, studied real estate at Wharton, and holds the Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ).
