Laura moved to Jersey from London in 2015 and worked in communications roles both in-house and freelance before moving to Jersey Finance.
Silvia Pinto
Silvia PintoCareer Switcher
Silvia had been in childcare for 10 years after studying childcare at college. In September 2022 she joined the Jersey Financial Services Commission in the Regulatory Maintenance Team. Although she wanted to change careers and challenge herself, Silvia was very hesitant to apply for roles and send in her CV as she had no previous experience or qualifications. However the JFSC made the change in career easy and smooth and have supported Silvia through it. No two days are the same and finance is not the stereotypical boring 9-5 office job. With flexible working, Silvia's home-work life balance has improved along with her mental health and wellbeing which has been noticed by her family.
