Flexible, Family-Friendly Workplaces: How to Make it Work

22 Jan 2026

Our Senior Strategy and Research Manager, Karolina Pilcher, was recently joined by Jane van Zyl, Chief Executive of Working Families, for a webinar exploring how organisations can successfully introduce and sustain flexible, family-friendly working practices, without compromising business performance.

The session provided practical insights and tools to help organisations create inclusive workplaces that support both professional success and family life.

Drawing on recent research from Working Families, Jane highlighted the growing demand for flexibility at work. The report showed that 69% of working parents in the UK prefer flexible roles, while 92% of young workers in London want flexibility. Against this backdrop, Jane outlined the key benefits of flexible working, when and how it can be implemented, and best practice for managing teams working flexibly.

The webinar also featured real-life case studies, offering practical examples of how flexible working has been implemented effectively, and how similar approaches can be applied within different teams and organisations.
