Placements are typically one to two weeks; however the scheme is designed to be flexible. Firms can also offer structured insight days, interactive sessions, shadowing opportunities or time with different teams. The placement does not need to be overly complex or resource intensive to make a meaningful impact.
Firms should continue to consider their existing onboarding and regulatory obligations, including areas such as financial crime, data protection and health and safety training. However, following further review of the AML/CFT/CPF Handbook, it is clear that a proportionate, risk-based approach can be applied for work experience students, allowing firms to tailor training appropriately. These requirements should not be viewed as a barrier to participation. (Jersey Financial Services Commission)
