Following an announcement by the UK’s Chancellor of the Exchequer as part of his 2018 Autumn Budget Statement, the UK Government launched a consultation on a proposed 1% Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) surcharge on non-UK residents purchasing residential properties in England and Northern Ireland. This consultation ran until 6 May 2019.
