PwC Channel Islands were once again honoured to receive the Leadership in Sustainable Finance – Professional Services award, marking our third consecutive win of this category.
As the leading professional services firm in the Channel Islands, we have a responsibility to play our part in advocating for sustainable islands and sustainable finance industries.
We are proud of the breadth and depth of sustainability expertise in our multi-disciplinary Channel Islands team. We seek to work at the intersection of sustainability and technology for our clients and the sectors they operate in, helping them build trust and transparency, and reinvent their business models. We work with ambitious organisations at the leading edge, and also with clients earlier in their journeys, demystifying terms and building practical cases for action.
Examples of local work this year include supporting financial institutions to evolve new sustainable finance products and offerings, Board-level sustainability strategy and training workshops, assurance over sustainability disclosures and KPIs for sustainability-linked loans, CSRD readiness for in-scope Jersey financial services businesses, and providing strategy, technical and financing advice to local early-stage businesses solving global sustainability challenges.
As the largest financial auditor of Jersey serviced funds, we challenged all our clients on their management of climate risk, the credibility of their sustainability-related claims and the implications for their financial statements; and reviewed the consistency of sustainability disclosures.
During 2024 we further developed our economics and impact practice. We are Evaluation Partner for Impact Jersey, a £20m government fund focused on technology adoption to solve the island’s social and environmental challenges. Alongside impact assessments for various clients that have helped unlock new finance, we were commissioned by the Jersey Community Foundation to quantify the value and contribution of Jersey’s third sector, which has transformed understanding of the sector and how the finance industry can support it.
We are advocates for Jersey for Good. We built Jersey Finance’s SDG Alignment Tool, the first of its kind for an IFC. We also authored the Jersey Finance paper “Financing a Better World” – new analysis of how Jersey’s finance industry already contributes to the SDGs and the case for scaling this.
We took a proactive role in the Government of Jersey’s Sustainable Finance industry consultation in 2024, producing bite-size videos to explain the key concepts, and encouraging our clients to respond. We were also delighted to be headline sponsor for the successful Jersey Finance Sustainable Finance Summit in March 2025, at which we brought our innovative PwC Sustainability VR Experience to enable participants to immerse themselves in the business case for action on nature.
Winning this award for the third year in a row is a chance to thank all our people, clients and collaborators in the Channel Islands market. We have made great progress but there is much still to do. We look forward to continuing to work with you to further strengthen and grow Jersey’s reputation as a centre for sustainable finance.
