Amy is Deputy Chief Executive of Jersey Finance. Amy joined Jersey Finance in 2011, becoming Chief Operating Officer in January 2014 and assumed her current role in September 2017. Amy also retains an active position leading the Strategy and Research team which undertakes projects and initiatives to develop the financial services industry in the Island.

An joined Jersey Finance in May 2016 as the Business Development Director for Asia and is now based in our Middle East Regional Hub office, in the DIFC in Dubai.

An studied law in Belgium at the University of Leuven including one Erasmus exchange year at Queen Mary and Westfield College in London. She subsequently did an LLM in international business law at Trinity College Dublin.

Deputy Elaine MillarMinister for Treasury and Resources, and Assistant Minister for External Relations, Government of Jersey

Deputy Millar has been the Minister for Treasury and Resources and Assistant Minister for External Relations for the Government of Jersey since 2023. Between 2022 and 2023 she served as Minister for Social Security and Assistant Chief Minister with responsibility for Financial Services. Deputy Millar is a Jersey advocate and lawyer with over 35 years' experience, originally qualifying as a solicitor in Scotland. She served as the first female Viscount of the Royal Court of Jersey, before which she also worked in the financial services industry at firms including RBS/Natwest International. In addition to her Ministerial role, Deputy Millar is a Member of Jersey's States Assembly (Parliament), representing the parishes of St John, St Lawrence, and Trinity.

Mishael Al AnsariBoard Member of Qatari Businesswomen Association and Communications Director, Anti-Doping Laboratory Qatar

Mishael, the daughter of an Ambassador, was exposed to diverse cultures from a young age. She began her career as a banking clerk while studying at Qatar University, later advancing to a banking officer role. Her path shifted when she became the first female senior staff member at Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) and the youngest manager in Qatar’s downstream oil and gas sector. As Qatar’s focus turned to sports, Mishael joined the team that established the region’s first anti-doping lab, eventually becoming its Marketing and Communications Director. She now serves as Special Projects Director. Alongside her career, Mishael ventured into the restaurant business and supports women in business as a board member of the Qatari Businesswomen Association. In 2020, she spent a year in the US, participating in workshops and representing Qatari women. Mishael's ambition remains strong, driven by the support of her family and husband, Lt. Colonel Al-Ansari.

Anna ThomDirector, Private Banker, Coutts

Anna Thom is a Director at Coutts, with over a decade of experience in relationship management and delivering complex banking solutions to HNW and UHNW families and family offices, particularly in the Middle East. As a Private banker Anna specialises in supporting with bespoke financial strategies that encompass wealth planning, investment management, and complex debt solutions.

Emma Higham Partner, Clyde & Co

Emma is an employment and immigration Partner within the MEA regional team and is based in Clyde & Co's Doha office. Emma has been based in Qatar for over 19 years and prior to becoming a lawyer, she was an accountant working with a Big4 firm. During her extensive career in the region, she has seen and contributed to clients’ growth and strategic planning. Emma’s practice covers all aspects of Qatar employment and immigration law in both the State and the QFC. She has a diverse global mobility immigration practice for multinational clients assisting with all aspects of their people mobilisation schemes (and dependants). In addition, to her Qatar practice, she also oversees the regional team’s Oman work. Clients in this year's Legal 500, referred to the 'absolutely outstanding' Emma Higham focuses on employment issues and 'goes above and beyond' for her clients, providing 'in-depth knowledge of the law and practice in Qatar'.

Nancy KilanyCountry Manager, Equiom

Nancy serves as the Country Manager at Equiom Corporate Services in Qatar. Her responsibilities encompass ensuring team compliance, managing daily office operations, and mitigating risks. She actively drives business development, ensuring legal compliance, and spearheads operational efficiency. Furthermore, Nancy adeptly manages relationships, develops new services, and optimises business activities for growth and regulatory adherence. With more than two decades of expertise in banking, financial planning, negotiation, marketing, and branding, Nancy is a distinguished professional. Renowned in wealth management in Qatar, she passionately believes in the symbiotic relationship between a company's success and that of its clients. Throughout her dynamic career, Nancy has showcased her results-driven dedication in the financial services industry. She has held pivotal roles in regulated advisory and area management within the financial planning sector in the United Kingdom and Qatar.

Kate ChapmanPartner, White & Case Doha

Qualified in England, Wales and New York, she specialises in general corporate finance, leveraged finance, real estate finance, project finance and Islamic finance across a range of industries and jurisdictions, and has advised on upwards of US$30 billion of financing transactions whilst working in Qatar, the UAE, London and New York. Kate is fluent in English and Spanish, and has conversational skills in German, French and Arabic. Kate has a particular specialism in cross-border real estate financings and she has previously completed a secondment to the special situations structuring desk at Deutsche Bank's Wall Street office in New York, in addition to a secondment as acting General Counsel for a leading GCC bank. Kate has also completed secondments with a Qatari investment bank and as sole legal advisor for the Middle East office of a major US pharmaceuticals company.
