At the start of each year, Jersey Finance Members are invited to join the scheme.
Our optional Lunch and Learn session gives you the opportunity to find out more and ask questions before signing up.
Join our Meet and Greet event to connect with participating students, showcase your placement and encourage suitable candidates to express an interest in your firm.
Following the event, we will match firms with students and confirm the proposed placements.
Contact your matched student or students to agree the dates and duration of their placement.
Placements usually last one to two weeks and may coincide with school activity weeks and holidays.
Send us your completed confirmation form and a job description for each student.
Host the placement, introduce your students to the world of finance and help them build valuable knowledge, skills and experience.

Once the placement has finished, we will email you a short feedback survey. We want to know what worked well and how we can continue to improve the scheme.
We may also showcase your firm’s involvement through Gallery magazine. This is an opportunity to highlight your commitment to developing local talent and raise your profile among students, schools and the wider Island community.

It will help you deliver a structured and rewarding experience for your student while reducing the planning time and resources required from your team.
Placements are typically one to two weeks; however the scheme is designed to be flexible. Firms can also offer structured insight days, interactive sessions, shadowing opportunities or time with different teams. The placement does not need to be overly complex or resource intensive to make a meaningful impact.
Firms should continue to consider their existing onboarding and regulatory obligations, including areas such as financial crime, data protection and health and safety training. However, following further review of the AML/CFT/CPF Handbook, it is clear that a proportionate, risk-based approach can be applied for work experience students, allowing firms to tailor training appropriately.
