Meet your potential employers of the future
You’ll get a ‘taster’ of a career in finance
If you are a local Year 12 student, you can apply for the Life in Finance scheme online.
If you are a Jersey student currently studying off-Island, please contact us directly for further information.
Once you have applied, we will invite you to a Meet and Greet event.
This is your opportunity to meet the participating financial services firms, learn about the placements they offer and find out what each experience could involve.
Following the event, we will let you know via email whether you have secured a placement.
Your host firm will then contact you to agree the placement dates and duration. Placements usually last one to two weeks and give you the opportunity to learn about the industry, build valuable experience and explore the careers available to you.
Once your placement has finished, we will email you a short feedback survey. We want to know what you enjoyed, what you learned and how we can improve the scheme.
We may also share your experience through Gallery magazine. This is an opportunity to celebrate your achievements and inspire future students.
The scheme is open to post-16 students in Jersey, including students attending sixth form and Highlands College.
Once applications close, students will be invited to attend the Meet and Greet event where they can meet participating firms and learn more about the placements available. Firms will then select students for placements and Jersey Finance will then contact you directly regarding placement details.
Placements vary between firms but may include work shadowing, team activities, insight sessions, practical tasks and opportunities to learn about different areas of the finance industry. Placements are designed to help students build confidence, workplace skills and a better understanding of future career opportunities.
