Celebrating Links With the City of London, the UAE and Kenya

11 Dec 2025

Last week, we partnered with the British Chamber of Commerce Kenya (BCCK), for the third consecutive year, and hosted two networking receptions in Mombasa and Nairobi. They were perfect opportunities to highlight the growing connections between Jersey, the City of London, Kenya and the UAE.

Faizal Bhana, Jersey Finance’s Director – Middle East, Africa and India, led the events and welcomed a distinguished line-up of speakers, who shared their insights on East Africa’s evolving investment landscape and the opportunities presented by cross-border finance. The agenda at each event featured contributions from:

  • Farida Abbas, Chief Executive Officer, British Chamber of Commerce Kenya
  • Seema Dhanani, Head of Kenya and Regional Director for East Africa, British International Investment
  • Michael Gathu, Chief Representative for East Africa, Dubai International Chamber

The discussions highlighted Jersey’s role in facilitating investment into African infrastructure, energy, agriculture and growth sectors, and how our jurisdiction provides African families and businesses with access to global capital markets, wealth structuring and robust governance. These events also reinforced the strength and strategic relevance of the four-centre financial corridor, linking Kenya, Jersey, the City of London and the UAE.

Commenting on the events, Faizal Bhana said:

It has been a pleasure to return to Kenya and collaborate once again with the British Chamber of Commerce Kenya. The insightful discussions at these events explore the opportunities for cross-border investment, succession planning and wealth structuring that connect Kenya, the UK, the UAE and Jersey.

Jersey Finance looks forward to continuing this collaboration and to building on Jersey’s role as a trusted conduit for international investment and business development.
