Employees at UBS Global Wealth Management Complete JET Jaunt

|8 October 2025

UBS Global Wealth Management today announced that employees in the Jersey, CI, office have successfully completed an annual fundraising challenge set by the Jersey Employment Trust (JET), entitled the ‘JET Jaunt’. Inspired by the BBC’s Race Across the World, 26 teams of two commenced their journey in Saint Malo, France, and ended it in Prague, travelling over three days using only grounded, public transport, with no flights and no fixed route.

Two teams from UBS took part, Maksymilian Majerczyk and Tom Wheeler (team one), and George Colbeck-Welch and Sam Tappenden (team two). Throughout the three-day trip and while racing to the final destination, they completed location-based challenges designed to test creativity, teamwork and endurance. Each team was required to raise at least GBP 500 for JET, which UBS matched, in addition to covering entry fees and logistical support for the teams. Both teams exceeded their fundraising targets, and with the extra GBP 1,000 from UBS, they raised a total of GBP 2,170.

“Taking part in the JET Jaunt was an incredible experience”, said Maksymilian, Client Advisor at UBS Global Wealth Management. “From navigating unfamiliar cities to working together under pressure, it pushed us out of our comfort zones, all for a cause we truly believe in. Knowing our efforts will help make a real difference in the local community made it even more worthwhile.”

Out of 26, team one finished in ninth place and team two finished in 13th place. All those that took part in the JET Jaunt took JET’s messages on the road and raised awareness of the vital work that the charity does in the local community.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the UBS teams for taking on the challenge and raising vital funds for JET,” said Caroline Spencer, Fundraising and Relationships Manager at the Jersey Employment Trust. “Events like this not only help our work financially but also help to build momentum for a more inclusive Jersey. UBS continues to be a valued supporter, and we’re proud to work alongside them.”

This initiative is part of UBS’s wider social impact commitment in Jersey, which includes strategic collaboration and hands-on volunteering with both JET and Beresford Street Kitchen (BSK). As a result, UBS aims to help create a more inclusive, skilled, and supported local workforce.

“At UBS, we believe in building more than just financial capital, we’re here to support our community, empower individuals, and promote inclusion wherever we can,” said Tobias Wehrli, Country Head Jersey at UBS Global Wealth Management. “We’re incredibly proud of our colleagues’ success in the JET Jaunt and it’s a perfect example of UBS’s commitment to social impact and desire to support meaningful initiatives.”
