Gen II Appoints Besmira Uruçi as Executive Director in Luxembourg

9 September 2025, London and Luxembourg – Gen II Fund Services (“Gen II”), a leading provider of tech-enabled fund administration, is pleased to announce the appointment of Besmira Uruçi as Executive Director in its Luxembourg office.

A highly respected figure in Luxembourg’s investment fund sector, Ms. Uruçi brings more than 13 years of legal and regulatory experience across fund administration, AIFM services, AML, compliance, fund marketing and distribution, delegation oversight and governance. A lawyer by training and a CSSF-approved AIFM Conducting Officer, she has held senior leadership roles across the fund administration and investment management industry.

Prior to joining Gen II, Ms. Uruçi served as Board Member AIFM/RC, Managing Director of a European fund services provider. Before this, she led the risk and compliance activities at Group level for a Luxembourg-based venture capital firm, where she played a key role in launching the group’s Luxembourg operations and establishing new AIFM and compliance frameworks. She also served as Head of Compliance and Conducting Officer at a large, global fund administration firm, where she led the development of new service lines and managed large cross-functional teams.

In addition to her executive roles, Ms. Uruçi is a dedicated educator and served as a Lecturer and Jury Member for the Master’s program in European Compliance at MSLux. She is an active contributor to the regulatory community, having participated in the LPEA working group on the AIFMD II directive and offering strategic guidance to market entrants in Luxembourg through M&A and advisory engagements. A multilingual leader (fluent in English, French, Albanian, Italian, and Spanish), she is also President of the Chamber of Commerce Albania-Luxembourg and a volunteer with SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde.

Ms. Uruçi holds a Master 2 in European Union Law and Economics from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a Bachelor in Law from Université Paris X Nanterre and is a licensed lawyer with international credentials including certifications from Golden Gate University School of Law and The Hague Academy of International Law.
