Greening Jersey (GJ), the finance industry-led initiative to rewild and restore Jersey’s natural environment, has hit some significant milestones as it moves into its second year.
Since the initiative launched in December 2024, GJ has now helped to plant more than 1,000 trees (1,155) and has secured in excess of £100,000 (and rising) in committed funding for nature restoration in Jersey.
In its first year, the initiative brought our industry together behind a shared ambition to deliver on-Island outcomes for biodiversity and climate resilience. With three sites already committed to and further sites under consideration or awaiting planning permission, as well as a growing programme of volunteering events, GJ is making an impact on long-term environmental recovery in our Island.
Tom McKenna, Jersey Finance Sustainable Finance Lead and GJ committee member, commented:
“As we start our second year, the focus is on deepening our impact by growing participation, scaling contributions and expanding the important work we do with our partner charities, including National Trust Jersey and Jersey Trees for Life.”
Jersey Finance Members can sign up to Greening Jersey until Saturday 31 January 2026.
