Islamic Finance Opportunities in Kuala Lumpur

On Wednesday 24 September, we were delighted to host an exclusive roundtable titled ‘Focus on Islamic Finance’ in collaboration with Bedell Cristin and Azimuth Global Partners. This breakfast event gathered leading intermediaries and industry specialists for a focussed discussion on the latest developments in the sector.

Led by Yiow Chong Tan, our Director – South East Asia, the roundtable explored UK and European real estate investment opportunities, with a particular focus on the use of Shari’a-compliant Jersey structures.

We were pleased to be joined by expert speakers Hamel Shah, Founding Partner of Azimuth Global Partners, Nancy Chien, Partner of Bedell Cristin, Adam Knight, Head of Funds and Indirect Real Estate at Bedell Cristin and Suhaida Mahpot, Chief Executive Officer at Amanie Advisors, who provided valuable perspectives on how the industry is evolving.

The following day, Thursday 25 September, we were proud to partner with the IFN Investor Asia Forum 2025. Recognised as one of the region’s leading Islamic investment gatherings, the forum brought together influential voices from across Asia’s Islamic finance community to discuss trends, opportunities and regulatory developments.

A highlight of the agenda was a fireside chat on ‘Assessing UK and European Real Estate Assets using Jersey Shari’a-compliant Structures’, featuring Yiow Chong Tan alongside Adam Knight, Head of Funds and Indirect Real Estate – London at Bedell Cristin. Together, they highlighted Jersey’s role as a trusted international finance centre in enabling Shari’a-compliant investment into global real estate markets.
