Capital International Group is pleased to announce the promotion of Jon Proudfoot to the role of Group Chief Investment Officer, expanding his leadership responsibilities across the organisation’s asset management teams in both the Isle of Man and Jersey.
As part of Capital International Group’s acquisition of APW Investors Limited in 2025, Jon Proudfoot immediately stepped into the role of Chief Investment Officer for Capital International (Jersey) Limited. Since then, Jon has been instrumental in the evolution of the Group’s asset management function. A key architect of the integration process, he has successfully brought together distinct investment teams, creating a cohesive and aligned investment approach while preserving expertise and strengths.
The appointment reflects both Jon’s extensive experience and his significant contribution to the success of the expansion into Jersey. His broadened remit will see him work closely with the asset management teams across the Isle of Man and Jersey, driving collaboration, innovation and consistency in the delivery of investment solutions for clients.
Jon takes over the Group Chief Investment Officer responsibilities from Group Co-founder, David Long, who has been instrumental in developing the Group’s investment management capability over 24 years. David is a Group Board director and will focus on Group Strategy and Innovation. He will remain actively involved with the asset management business as Chair of the Investment Oversight Committee, providing continuity for clients and colleagues while continuing to share his considerable expertise and experience.
Commenting on his appointment, Jon Proudfoot said:
“I am honoured to take on the role of Group Chief Investment Officer. We have a lot of great talent in our investment team, across both islands, and excellent foundations in place in terms of our independent, active approach. I am excited to keep working with the team to further enhance what we do, and to continue delivering strong and consistent returns for our clients.”
Antony Kelsey, Head of Asset Management, commented:
“Jon has demonstrated exceptional leadership and investment expertise throughout his time with Capital International (Jersey) Limited and has been a driving force in establishing a combined proposition across our asset management business unit and aligning investment process and philosophy. His promotion to Group Chief Investment Officer is a natural progression and reflects the confidence we have in his ability to lead our investment teams across both the Isle of Man and Jersey. We look forward to seeing the positive impact his leadership will have on the continued development of our business and the service we provide to our clients.”
