KPMG in the Crown Dependencies Announces Promotion of Three New Partners

KPMG in the Crown Dependencies is delighted to announce the promotion of Fiona Babbé, Shaun Farley and Sarah Hume to the position of Partner, reflecting the firm’s ongoing investment in its people across its offices in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.

Fiona Babbé, based in Guernsey, has over 15 years of experience delivering audit services, with a particular focus on London Stock Exchange listed funds. She leads the KPMG Board Leadership Centre in Guernsey, sharing insights and fostering dialogue on governance and boardroom effectiveness. Fiona also serves as the Qualified Person Responsible for Training for KPMG trainees undergoing their professional ICAEW and ACCA qualifications. Her commitment to audit quality, client service and passion for nurturing talent has made a lasting impact within the firm and the wider industry.

Shaun Farley, based in Jersey, has been instrumental in the growth of KPMG’s audit practice across the Crown Dependencies. With over 20 years of professional services experience, Shaun works with a broad range of investment management and financial services clients, bringing deep expertise and a client-centric approach. After spending a year with KPMG in the Cayman Islands, he returned to Jersey in 2019 as a Director. Shaun now leads KPMG’s investment management audit offering in Jersey, heads the island’s Board Leadership Centre, and serves as an Executive Committee member of the Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants.

Sarah Hume was locally educated in Guernsey and began her career with KPMG in 2009. After completing her professional training, she spent seven years with KPMG UK, based in London, where she specialised in asset management and Private Equity (PE) audit. In October 2021, Sarah returned to KPMG in the Crown Dependencies as an Audit Director, building on her extensive experience of working with private equity clients and managing cross-jurisdictional relationships for London-based managers and funds domiciled in the Channel Islands and Luxembourg. Sarah plays a leadership role in the firm’s PE Group and is instrumental in driving external market engagement, including flagship PE Connect events. She also leads key initiatives within PE Audit operations, where she is focused on enhancing PE audit training and PE Audit tools.

Brian Bethell, Head of Audit at KPMG in the Crown Dependencies, commented, “We are incredibly proud to welcome Fiona, Shaun and Sarah to the audit partnership. Their dedication, technical excellence, and leadership embody the values of KPMG and underpin our continued success. These promotions reflect our commitment to developing our people and delivering exceptional service to our clients. The career development of Shaun and Sarah exemplifies the ongoing success of our local training programme, providing staff with the opportunity to gain global experience while advancing their long-term careers in the islands.”

The appointments of Fiona, Shaun and Sarah as Partners further strengthen KPMG’s leadership team and reinforce the firm’s position as a leading provider of professional services in the Crown Dependencies.
