Head of Department – Wills & Probate

Voisin Law LLP are looking for a Jersey qualified lawyer of between 5 to 10 years PQE to join their Wills & Probate Department as Head of Department.

The role:

• This full-time role is an exciting opportunity to lead one of Jersey’s most established and respected wills and probate practices
• You will be responsible for a varied caseload, principally encompassing complex wills drafting and estate planning, including advice upon lasting powers of attorney, administration of estates, management of delegations and advising the firm’s clients on all related matters of Jersey law
• Supervision: You will also manage a team of five individuals (a combination of lawyers and legal assistants), who will undertake their own caseloads under your supervision
• Client management:  You will have primary responsibility for client relationships, taking matters from initial instruction and/or retaining oversight of all client relationships within the department
• Strategic growth:  You will report to the Partners with respect to the management of the department within the context of the department’s commercial objectives and KPIs
• Business development: You will drive business development by identifying new client opportunities, strengthening existing client relationships and contributing to the growth and profile of the department and the firm

Technical requirements:

• You are a Jersey Advocate or a Jersey Écrivain with between 5 to 10 years PQE
• You are experienced in advising upon Jersey law wills and estates matters both for local and non-domiciliaries
• You are technically astute providing superior advice within the areas of wills and estates
• You possess a genuine interest in law and a desire to provide a high-quality service to our clients
• You have deep familiarity with Jersey procedural rules pertaining to probate applications and matters of Jersey law relating to wills and estates
