Serena Guthrie MBE is a former professional netball player renowned for her dynamic presence in the mid-court positions of Centre, Wing Defence, and Wing Attack. Celebrated for her exceptional speed, athleticism, and intercepting ability, she is regarded as one of the sport’s finest mid-court players. Her international career began in 2008, and over 14 years she earned 110 caps for England and captained the team 28 times. Guthrie played a key leadership role in England’s historic gold medal win at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, where they defeated Australia in a dramatic final. She also contributed to England’s bronze medal finishes at the Netball World Cups in 2011 and 2019. Appointed an MBE in 2020, Guthrie retired in 2022. She now serves as Performance Lead for Jersey Netball, founded Legacy Netball to support young talent, and works in business coaching as a Special Advisor and Head of People with Humanise Solutions.
