Based in Johannesburg, Dr Rufaro Nyakatawa’s primary focus is developing the strategy for Jersey Finance’s engagement in the South African market. She also plays a vital role in supporting the organisation’s wider activity across the continent.

Elliot re-joined Jersey Finance in November 2018 from Crestbridge where he managed their Management Company Services Group.

Elliot’s role is to help define Jersey’s product offering for funds as well as to oversee the strategy and execution of marketing Jersey as both a domicile and destination for Alternative Investment Managers and their funds.

Eugene is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor with over 25 years of investment and executive management experience in financial markets having managed capital market trading and investment teams, and SaaS technology businesses. He is CEO and co-founder of Education Innovation Partners (EduInnov8) and board member and co-founder of Hlayisani Capital. He previously served in executive leadership positions at IRESS Ltd, Nedbank Capital, Sanlam Capital Markets, and ICAP South Africa.

Mandlakazi Gcasamba CA (SA) is the Head of Operations. Prior to joining SAVCA she was the Head of Operations at LEGACY AFRICA Fund Managers where she was in charge of providing inspired leadership for the business, which involves working with the board of directors in making important policy and strategic decisions. She was part of the team that set up the first Legacy Africa Private Equity Fund. She completed a year of academic articles in Financial Management at the University of Limpopo (UL) as one of the first clerks in the partnership between UJ and UL to assist UL in attaining their CTA Honours accreditation. She completed the rest of her articles at SNG Grant Thornton where she become an audit manager in the Financial Services division. Within the Academia, Mandlakazi was a Senior Lecturer in Financial Management at North West University.

The Southern African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SAVCA) is a non-profit industry association, representing over 230 members in Southern Africa, who collectively manage in excess of R237bn in assets.

SAVCA promotes Southern African private equity, private debt, and venture capital by engaging with regulators and legislators on a range of matters affecting the industry; providing relevant and insightful thought leadership and research on aspects that impact the industry; offering training and capacity building opportunities to stakeholders in the ecosystem; and by creating meaningful networking opportunities for industry players, investors and capital seekers.
