Our Tech Connect roundtable event series provides an exclusive forum for senior IT professionals from Jersey Finance Member firms to come together and discuss key technology themes and challenges under the Chatham House Rule.
This final event in our 2026 AI trilogy will focus on a practical question facing firms as adoption grows: how can organisations identify where AI can create real value, measure the impact it is having and make better decisions about what is worth pursuing?
The session will be facilitated by Sam Jeremiah, Founder and CEO of FernAI, and will explore why this is becoming increasingly important as the economics of AI evolve. Unlike traditional software, where costs have largely been based on predictable licences, AI costs can increasingly be driven by usage and consumption, making it important to understand the value being created alongside the investment required.
Starting with the business problem rather than the technology, attendees will explore how to identify and prioritise AI use cases, establish meaningful baselines and measure the net effect of AI once it has been introduced. The discussion will also consider how firms can distinguish the impact of AI from other factors influencing business performance.
Sam will draw on his experience to explore what good looks like in practice, where organisations commonly go wrong and the factors that can determine whether an AI use case ultimately delivers value, including process change, adoption, cost, governance and organisational constraints.
Structured as a facilitated roundtable rather than a formal presentation, the session will combine practical principles and examples with discussion and perspectives from the room. Attendees should leave with a practical framework they can apply when assessing their own AI use cases, from identifying potential value through to measuring impact and deciding what deserves further investment.
