Learning and CPD

Continuing Professional Development

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) refers to the learning activities professionals undertake to develop and maintain their skills, knowledge, and competence throughout their careers.

Whether you are early in your career or a senior leader, CPD supports both personal development and wider business performance. It helps professionals stay current in a fast-moving industry, respond effectively to regulatory and market change, and continue to add value to their organisation at every career stage.

Many professional bodies and employers expect professionals to undertake CPD annually in order to maintain competence, professional standing, or regulatory compliance. The recognition of CPD activity, including learning hours, is determined by the individual’s professional body, regulator, or employer.

Within our industry, CPD plays an important role in maintaining high standards and supporting the ongoing professional competence of the workforce. This contributes to Jersey’s reputation as a well-run and forward-thinking international finance centre and supports the long-term sustainability of the sector.

CPD and Jersey Finance

Jersey Finance is a member of CPD UK and is recognised by them as a CPD provider. This means that many of our events and selected content are designed to support continuing professional development and may be suitable for self-recording as CPD, subject to individual requirements.

As a CPD provider, we are able to assess our events and selected content against established CPD principles and standards. This helps ensure the learning we provide is relevant, well-structured, and delivered to a consistent level of quality.

For our Members, this provides reassurance that professional development activity delivered by Jersey Finance is designed to support genuine learning and ongoing professional competence. Recognition of CPD activity remains the responsibility of the individual learner in line with the requirements of their professional body, regulator, or employer.

If you attend a Jersey Finance professional development event, or complete an eligible webinar or podcast, you may request a Certificate of Professional Development as evidence of your learning. To request a certificate, please email us with the name of the event, webinar or podcast and the date you completed it. We will then issue your certificate by email. Learners may use this certificate to self-record CPD in line with the requirements of their professional body, regulator or employer.
