We hosted the second event in our Tech Connect AI trilogy on Wednesday 15 July, bringing together senior IT professionals from Member firms for a roundtable discussion on deploying AI safely, securely and reliably.
Held at The Pavilion, the session was facilitated by David Sully, CEO and Co-founder of Advai, alongside Jonathan Clarke, our Fintech Lead. David drew on his experience supporting organisations with the testing, evaluation and governance of AI systems across financial services and other high-stakes sectors.
The roundtable focussed on the evidence organisations need to build confidence in AI-enabled systems before deploying them. Attendees explored how AI’s non-deterministic nature has changed traditional approaches to testing and assurance, including how to assess systems that can produce different outputs from the same input or generate convincing but incorrect responses.
Key themes included defining what safe, secure and reliable AI means in practice, establishing an appropriate evidence threshold before deployment and integrating AI into existing governance, risk and compliance processes. The discussion also covered the questions firms should ask suppliers and internal technical teams about security, privacy, data use, model changes, resilience and accountability.
This session was the second in our ‘Making AI Work’ trilogy for Tech Connect in 2026, with the final event taking place in October, more details to follow.
