Are you looking to get back to work? Thinking of a career change? Or not sure where to start? Then we have the event for you!

Join us on Tuesday 14 October to hear from people who have been in your shoes.

Who is this event aimed at?

This event is for anyone interested in knowing more about rejoining or re-skilling into the finance and related professional services industry.

From parents who have taken time out of work to look after their children, to someone who needs to work flexibly to look after sick/elderly family members, or someone who is looking for a career change into finance.

It is an opportunity to speak to current representatives from local financial services firms. You will be able to ask them questions and hear how they overcame obstacles and what worked best for them to help shape their career.

The finance industry can be very flexible, and we believe that there is a job for everyone.

For more information, please contact a member of our events team.

Speakers
Emma Pichon
Emma PichonReturner, Trident Trust Company Jersey
After the birth of her children in July 2019, Emma planned to return to her position within a family office in April 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting uncertainty, she decided to defer her return until her children were older. In October 2022, she accepted a role outside the industry in an educational environment for one year. By October 2023, she transitioned back to the industry to achieve a better work/life and financial balance for her family. Her reduced working hours are flexible to accommodate family life, while still allowing her to progress and develop her professional career in a sustainable manner.
Bianca Saville
Bianca SavilleCareer Switcher, Affinity Private Wealth
Before joining Affinity Private Wealth in 2023, I spent 10 rewarding years in the childcare sector, from nursery roles to private nannying, with a focus on supporting children with additional needs. When my final nanny position ended, I knew it was time to pursue a new direction. That moment came in February 2023, when I took three months to rest, travel, and reflect. During that time, I connected with a recruitment agency and was quickly presented with opportunities—Affinity stood out as the clear choice. I’ve since completed three professional exams and feel incredibly fortunate with my supportive team.
Stefanie Lloyd
Stefanie LloydCareer Switcher, Affinity Private Wealth
I worked in early years education for 13 years. I always knew this was never the end game and that I would move to a different sector, though I didn’t expect it when it happened. After returning from maternity leave, I felt different and knew I needed a change, and decided it was time for a new sector. I went to a recruitment agency who quickly got me a interviews. Affinity offered me a job and I accepted, it was the best decision for me and my family, and I haven’t looked back.
Daniela Ferreira
Daniela FerreiraCareer Switcher, Affinity Private Wealth
Before joining Affinity Private Wealth in 2022, I spent most of my career in retail and hospitality, from supermarket work in Madeira to helping open a new restaurant. My interest in customer service started early, as my grandparents owned a bar and small supermarket where I learned to serve customers and stock shelves. In 2015, I moved to Jersey to work in a Portuguese café before improving my English at a Spanish kiosk. I later joined Waitrose, progressing from shelf-stacking to scheduling for 100 staff. Seeking new opportunities led me to Affinity, where I now support HR and office administration while studying for my CIPD Level 3.
Shirley Ann Halford

After a successful rehabilitation, she returned to the financial services sector and is now part of the team at Accuro, where she focuses on trust closures and enjoys the challenge of complex fiduciary work. Accuro’s flexible working arrangements allow Shirley Ann to balance her professional responsibilities with family life.
Silvia Pinto
Silvia PintoCareer Switcher, Jersey Financial Services Commission
After working in childcare for 10 years, I decided in September 2022 to take a leap into a completely new career path and joined the Jersey Financial Services Commission. At first, I felt hesitant as I had no qualifications or experience, but I found the courage to apply. From day one, the JFSC provided incredible support, with training that helped me grow in knowledge and confidence. By July 2024, I had completed qualifications and progressed to Trainee Supervisor. The move has shown me finance is dynamic, flexible and rewarding, giving me better balance and making me happier in my career.
