If you’re looking to get back to work, thinking of a career change or not sure where to start, then this is the event for you!

What to expect

Our Reconnect event is an opportunity to speak to finance professionals in Jersey who started their careers in different industries like retail or childcare before making the switch to finance or who have taken a break from their career in finance and have made the decision to return to work.

At the event you’ll be able to ask them questions, hear how they overcame challenges and learn how a career in finance has supported them both personally and professionally. Our speakers include:

  • Alex de Rue – Alex started his career in retail before moving into finance as a Business Intelligence Analyst. Alex has been able to build his skills and gain professional qualifications while working.
  • Bianca Saville – After 10 years in childcare, Bianca made the move into finance and is now a Trust Administrator, studying towards professional qualifications alongside her role.
  • Daniela Ferreira – Daniela transitioned from a retail background into a Premises/Office Administrator role supporting the HR team, with opportunities to develop her skills and work towards professional qualifications.
  • Emma Pichon – Emma took time out to care for her children, with the COVID-19 pandemic extending her break. She returned to the industry in 2023 as a Senior Client Services Officer and now works reduced, flexible hours, building a balanced career that supports both her family and professional progression.
  • Lloyd Adams – Previously a political adviser, Lloyd moved into finance and is now a Wealth Manager. He made the switch while raising three young children, balancing career growth with family life.
  • Silvia Pinto – With a background in childcare, Silvia is now a Trainee Supervisor in finance. Flexible working has helped her achieve a better balance between work and home life.
  • Stefanie Lloyd – After 13 years in childcare, Stefanie made the move into finance following maternity leave. Now a Trust Administrator, she’s benefiting from flexible working and studying towards qualifications.
