Jersey Finance CEO Speaks at TheCityUK Conference

5 May 2026

Our Chief Executive Officer, Joe Moynihan, has highlighted the importance of collaboration between international finance centres (IFCs) in supporting the movement of global capital, during a panel session at TheCityUK’s annual international conference last month (April).

The session, moderated by Sir Edward Braham, Chair of TheCityUK’s International Financial Centres Group, brought together senior leaders from global financial hubs to explore how geopolitics, technology, sustainability and shifting investment flows are reshaping financial services.

Speaking on the panel, Joe said that while competition between centres remains healthy, greater cooperation is essential in an increasingly complex global environment.

“Clients ultimately determine which centre is right for them, but they are looking for stability, certainty, strong regulation and trusted legal systems,” he said. “For Jersey, political stability and a commitment to high standards continue to be clear strengths.”

Joe also underlined Jersey’s close relationship with London, noting that a significant proportion of business flowing through Jersey is advised from the UK capital and vice versa.

He added that IFCs have an important role to play in connecting investors with opportunities across Asia, the Middle East and developing markets, particularly as digital finance, sustainable finance and AI continue to transform the sector.
