Greening Jersey Passes 50-Participant Milestone and Confirms Fifth Site

12 Aug 2026

Greening Jersey has passed the milestone of 50 participating firms and confirmed plans to commit to a fifth site at Plémont, marking two significant developments for the finance industry-led initiative.

Alexander Forbes CI Ltd joined Greening Jersey as its 50th participating firm, contributing impact reporting services to the initiative in place of the registration fee. This support will help Greening Jersey continue to measure and communicate the impact of its activities. Having now welcomed more than 50 participants, the initiative continues to demonstrate the growing commitment across Jersey’s finance industry for collective action to restore and enhance the Island’s natural environment.

In another exciting milestone, Greening Jersey will work in partnership with the National Trust for Jersey to restore an existing pond at Plémont headland. The project will involve re-profiling and re-lining the pond to improve its condition and help create a valuable habitat for a variety of wildlife.

Plémont will become the fifth site supported through Greening Jersey and its first project focussed on wetland. The work will broaden the initiative’s programme of nature restoration and wider site stewardship activity.

Tom McKenna, Sustainable Finance Lead at Jersey Finance and Greening Jersey committee member, commented:

“Passing the milestone of 50 participating firms is a significant achievement and a strong reflection of the finance industry’s continued commitment to Greening Jersey. The confirmation of the Plémont site is equally exciting. It gives us the opportunity to support a different type of habitat and, working with the National Trust for Jersey, restore a pond that we hope will provide a valuable home for local wildlife. Greening Jersey is built on collective participation, and we are grateful to every firm that has contributed funding, volunteers and support to the initiative.”

The plans for Plémont have recently been shared with participating firms, with further information about the restoration work and opportunities to support the site to follow as the project progresses.

Greening Jersey has also published its 2025 Financial Statements, Annual Update Report and Impact Report, providing participating firms and wider stakeholders with a transparent account of the initiative’s activities, finances and impact during the year. Thank you to True Ltd for their contribution of the impact reporting services for 2025.

Together, these milestones reflect the continued growth of Greening Jersey and the positive impact that can be achieved when Jersey’s finance industry works collectively to support the Island’s natural environment.
