As South Africa celebrates Women’s Month, Jersey Finance is pleased to highlight the participation of Dr Rufaro Nyakatawa, Director – Africa, at recent the Economist Corporate Network’s Women in Leadership event.
The event brought together female business leaders to explore the challenges of leading in an era of rapid change, with discussions focussing on future-proofing leadership, sustainable decision-making, calculated risk-taking and creating inclusive workplaces that support the next generation of leaders.
Reflecting on the event, Dr Rufaro Nyakatawa said:
It was valuable to be part of a discussion that recognised the realities of modern leadership while focussing on practical solutions.I particularly welcomed the emphasis on lifting our focus beyond day-to-day demands through horizon scanning, viewing AI as a tool to create more time for strategic work and reframing imposter syndrome as an opportunity to build confidence through continuous learning. Equally important was the message that sustainable leadership requires inclusive workplace practices, with men and women working together to shape environments where people can thrive.
Jersey Finance values opportunities to engage with industry leaders across Africa, sharing insights, fostering meaningful dialogue and strengthening relationships that support diverse, resilient and globally connected financial services ecosystems.
As we continue to celebrate Women’s Month in South Africa, we look forward to building on these conversations through our upcoming Perspectives: Women in Leadership event, which brings together industry stakeholders to explore the future of leadership, collaboration and innovation across South Africa’s financial services sector.
